“The more you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.”
- Dr. Seuss, "I Can Read With My Eyes Shut!"
WELCOME BACK students! I am excited to start the new school year with you! I am your new librarian/technology teacher. My name is Ms. Foust. I have two daughters, whom I love very much!! I graduated from St. Joseph School 30 years ago; and wow...it just seems like yesterday! :-) I also graduated from Knoxville Catholic HS. After attending KCHS, I completed a B.S. from the University of TN. Several years later, after having my two beautiful daughters, I completed the educational program through Lincoln Memorial University, as well as obtaining a Masters in Education. My family returned to Knoxville in 2007, where I accepted my first teaching position with SJN, as a part time Technology teacher. After teaching with SJN, I decided to take a break from teaching, while my daughters were so young, to sub within the school system, allowing more time with them. Thankfully I received this opportunity to return to my alum school, with the chance to give back to St. Joseph all of the happiness I received so many years ago!!
During the school year, we will explore technology via various educational websites selected by Ms. Foust, posted to Weebly and Google Chrome within your grade folders. Additionally, we will study various authors/illustrators throughout the year within the library. We will utilize the upgrades within technology resources, such as; the Smart Board to review key terms within Jeopardy created Power Points, during reading discussions, online reading with various authors, and view standards within both technology and library information. Our classes will remain busy, as we discover, create, and apply skills through an active learning environment accessible through St. Joseph's abundance of modern resources. I am thankful to share my love of reading and technology with you!
